In addition to FX’s huge stock of digital recording formats, the FX Copyroom has access to a wide collection of older analogue tape machines. These range from older domestic 1/4" units – 2 track, 4 track & 8 track running at speeds upwards of 3 3/4 ips.

After a long period of storage, some older analogue tapes can exhibit a tendancy to squeal or stick to the guides and heads in the recorder’s tape path. The FX Copyroom can bake these tapes which enable a transfer to a new format… read more…

If that 40 year old recording isn’t quite as “bright” as you remember or has a selection of “pops, bangs or crackles” the FX Copyroom can, using its digital facilities, clean up the material before transferring onto cd, minidisc, mp3… whatever format you wish.
