RME MADI Router

The MADI Router is a compact device designed to link MADI devices of any manufacturer with unprecedented flexibility in signal routing. It provides this flexibility by serving as a format converter between optical and electrical signals, as a signal repeater, and as a distributor and merger of several MADI signals, all at the same time. The MADI Router combines many advantages of point-to-point audio connections, such as low latency and fast recovery time from signal line interruptions, with the flexibility of networked audio connections in which any device has access to any channel available on the network of connected devices.

At the simplest level input signals are passed on to the desired output unaltered. This type of connection is beneficial when manufacturers have embedded additional status or remote control data information in the MADI stream.

It is also possible to create new arrangements of audio channels within a MADI output stream. For this purpose four independent matrices are provided, each one reflecting 768 IN x 64 OUT audio channels. Any channel of any valid MADI input stream may be source to each crosspoint matrix. The output of each matrix can then be passed on to any of the 12 MADI Router’s outputs.


Tascam MH-8 Headphone Mixer & Amplifier

TASCAM’s MH-8 is the ultimate headphone amplifier for studio, stage and installation. Each of the eight stereo outputs gets 250mW per side with three switchable sources available. Two stereo inputs can be shared to any of the outputs, and individual stereo direct inputs are available for each of the eight channels. Neumann KU80 Dummy Head

The Neumann brochure from 1975 says, "The KU80 artificial head was developed for the head-related binaural recording techniques. The recordings made with said head are of studio quality by virtue of the use of high-grade condenser microphones.

The dimensions of the artificial head are in line with the dimensions of the human head and, instead of of the auditory organs, it is provided with two microphones. Particular attention was paid to a very exact imitation of the pinnae and of the entrance to the ear canal. As a result, the microphones have a frequency-dependent directional characteristic , which is similar to the one occuring at the tympanic membrane of the human head."

DirectOut Technologies MADI.SRC

Direct Out Technologies MADI.SRC offers best quality sample rate conversion of a complete MADI stream (64 audio channels) in realtime. The device supports any source and destination sample rates from 30 kHz to 50 kHz and their multiples (48k/96 kFrame, 56/64 channels). High end chips with a THD+N > 140dB and a frequency response linearity better than 0.025 dB guarantee excellent sound quality.

Inputs and outputs are layed out with both optical (SC multi-mode) and coaxial (BNC) connectors and work in parallel. Thus both outputs carry the converted input signal and can be distributed twice. If required the signal format can be converted from/to optical/coaxial by using the SPLIT.CONVERTER.

The MADI.SRC can be used whereever sample rate conversion with highest sound quality is requested. The stream is processed in realtime and all channels provided at the output will be phase and sample accurate to each other.

JoeCo BlackBox BBR64-MADI Recorder

Based on the award-winning, tried and tested BlackBox Recorder design, the new BLACKBOX BBR64-MADI RECORDER is designed to record and replay up to 64 channels of MADI data and yet still only occupies one unit of rack space!
